What Is A Notary Public ?
A Notary Public (commonly referred to as a Notary) is a Senior Legal Officer appointed by the Master of the Court of Faculties, having first satisfied the qualification requirements. Essentially the Notary Public definition of duties would include preparing, witnessing and certifying, and authenticating – under his or her seal of office, deeds and other documents for worldwide use, on behalf of individuals and companies.
Notaries are regulated by the Faculty Office of the Archbishop of Canterbury. The Notaries Society of England and Wales are their representative body. Almost all Notaries are also qualified as solicitors. The two roles are however completely different and importantly it should be noted that solicitors are also regulated by a different body – the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority (SRA).

It is preferable that you first make an appointment before attending my office. I can attend commercial clients, by prior arrangement, at their offices, and individuals at their homes, but bear in mind this will inevitably increase costs and may cause delay.
